- Lakeway Elementary earned a TEA-AEIS rating of Exemplary* in 2006. The campus was also named a Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll School and was on the Texas Monthly list of "Best Public Schools in the State."
- The Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) program is built into the school's daily schedule to help students establish a lifelong love of reading.

- The HBMS library houses approximately 12,500 volumes and provides all the necessary resources for student research and enjoyment.

- Lake Travis Middle School (LTMS) has maintained an Exemplary* rating by the Texas Education Agency every year since 1995.
- The curriculum at LTMS is designed around the core academic classes of mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies. Accelerated and gifted and talented instruction is offered in language arts and math.
- The mentor program at LTMS enlists volunteers from the community, as well as PALS from Lake Travis High School, to serve as role models who take an active interest in the life of a student. These mentors serve as an additional supporting adult or older teen for that student.
- Students at LTMS have the opportunity to participate in academic competition, National Junior Honor Society, math contests, choir, band, theatre arts, and orchestra programs.

- Lake Travis High School features more than 210 courses utilizing a multilevel curriculum designed to meet the needs of each student. Fourteen Pre-Advanced Placement and 26 AP courses are offered in English, math, science, social studies, computer science, languages, and art.
- Lake Travis High School operates on an alternating block format with four 90-minute classes meeting every other day.
A wide variety of private schools are also available in Lakeway and nearby Austin.
